The Urban Information Lab (UIL) leverages cutting-edge technologies like AI, Generative AI, Robotics, and Digital Twins to better understand, measure, plan, and develop smart cities. Since its inception in 2013, UIL researchers have employed various methodologies to analyze key smart city domains such as transportation, housing, the environment, and emergency response. The lab actively collaborates with the City of Austin, the Texas Advanced Computing Center, USDOT, USHUD, and the NSF.
